When you approach death's door, law professor, will you care that your law school was ranked, say, 34th rather than 39th or, say, 50th rather than 54th? Or will it matter more to you that you contributed something to the world (or that you did not)?
Such jeremiads aside, the rankings are probably useful to law school applicants.
