Tacit Inferential Reckoning - The Dung Beetle and the Human Animal

If the dung beetle has tacit inferential knowledge, or capacity, why not human beings?

The human animal has and uses an enormous variety of subliminal inferential processes -- for example, it infers the shapes of objects in a visual field, it infers whether a sound is loud or not, it infers whether a surface its finger touches is rough or smooth, etc., etc.
